Most Famous Hotel in Singapore - Raffles Hotel, Home of the Singapore Sling | MerRyan SG Guide
Hihi good day to you!
Today MerRyan has the luck to stay in Singapore's most famous hotel Raffles Hotel!
Let me show you the magic of one of the oldest hotel in Singapore!
Here's the video:

Right during check-in - we were already fussed about by the welcoming committee.
As we drove in, we had the honor to have our car parked at the Raffles Hotel porch for the entire stay.
This is such an honor.
The lobby is grand beyond words. The centre piece is the chandelier that weighs nearly a ton!
It is so beautiful whatever angle you look at it from.
We stayed at the Palm Court Suite. All the Palm court suite rooms faces the Palm Court Garden.
The checkin for Raffles Hotel is very unique - it is done at the room!
A personal butler will be assigned and help you settle in.
Can you find me? This is the minibar.
Inside you can find beautiful teas and coffee - all complimentary.
All nicely hidden in this little commode.
All rooms in Raffles come with a balcony, which they call it the parlour - as it is the way English houses were fashioned in the past.
Beyond the parlour, the room is huge! All lights, TV and aircon are managed by the Ipad - click click click.
And the toilet has this beautiful bathtub right in the center. MerRyan had baths everyday. You can ask the butler to get ready the hot water for you.
The restaurants are fantastic. We had a light lunch at the Raffles Courtyard. Food wasn't exceptional tasty - small portions but service was impeccable.
Very friendly waiters eager to please.
We also restaurant hopped and had a pizza at Butchers' Block which recently opened for lunch. Food portion was small but quality was good. Service, as usual, was warm and waiters so eager to have conversation with us.
After a nice meal, we went to the gift shop. Here you can find all sort of gifts for your friends.
You can buy the Singapore Sling premix home, or even the Raffles doorman plush toy home.
There are fresh bread you can buy and remember to collect your free ice-cream... yum yum.
MerRyan came here to take a photo with Sir Stamford Raffles, of course!
Since you are here, don't forget to enjoy the Singapore Sling welcome drink. The world renowned Singapore Sling was born in Raffles Hotel - don't ever miss it!
The swimming pool is small but sufficient. You can enjoy a drink here.
The gym is very well-equipped! You can even have a shower here before returning back to room.
The next day, we had breakfast at the Tiffin Room - the ambiance was sublime.
Can you find me amongst the Tiffins?
Breakfast was a la carte buffet and MerRyan ordered too much, but it was so tasty! I order page 1 and 2 of the menu...
We recommend the Dim Sum, Nasi Lemak and Mee Goreng - all local favourites!
At night, the hotel looks even more fabulous. No outside visitor would be allowed in at this time so you have exclusive access to the hotel grounds.
It feels like taking a walk in your private garden. It is so peaceful and beautiful.
And when you are here, don't forget to go for the Raffles Hotel history tour!
We were hosted by Mr Roslee - who explained the history of the hotel to us - including the old unassuming grandfather clock that stood in the hotel since 1887.
And we were shown the world famous Presidential Suite - where Michael Jackson stayed!
The room is so grand... MerRyan was blown away.
All in all, Raffles Hotel felt like a Japanese ryokan stay. We were fussed about by the staff and they actually addressed us by our names thoughout the stay.
They made us feel at home and were always smiling and helpful. The service also felt very genuine.
Thanks for reading this!
If you come to Singapore, you must stay in Raffles Hotel at least once in your life. MerRyan stayed for 2 nights and still crave for more!
